Here are five things worth paying attention to this month. I recommend selecting one or two and jumping in over the next week.
1. Speaking with children.
Have you ever stopped to wonder why we speak to children the way that we do?
2. La Chancla (if you know, you know.)
A homie of mine is on a quest to #endchancla culture and prevent child abuse. Follow Latinx Parenting
3. Ester Perel a famous couples therapist.
Relationships are critical, and this podcast by Ester Perel helps us reflect on ways that we can strengthen the critical connections in our lives.
4. Emotional Inheritance: A Therapist, Her Patients, and the Legacy of Trauma.
As I explore the impact of my own parents on my healing, and reflect upon the impact I may have on my child, this book will continue to be a useful companion.
5. Gracie’s Corner youtube.
This one’s for all my parents with young children. Gracie’s Corner provides children’s songs that are created by a Black family from Houston. The music is still annoying, but the beats are dope lol.
