Thank you for shedding light on the distortion and heresy of a breed of evangelical and fundamentalist Christianity (“For insurrectionists, a violent faith brewed from nationalism, conspiracies and Jesus,” published at anabaptistworld.org). They do not adhere to nor even care about Jesus’ nonviolent teachings. It is up to all of us to speak nonviolent truth and guard against the unholy marriage of religion and white nationalism. It is fueled by hate, fear, conspiracy and end-time theories — a virulent cancer that is eating apart the church of Jesus Christ. Our country is convulsing with violence and on the verge of civil war — an outcome this group is envisioning. It is not the way of Jesus nor the Apostle Paul, and never has been. Please continue to highlight our rich Anabaptist history and stories of nonviolent resistance in this time of the church’s reckoning.
