Journeys of joy and sorrow

Thank you, Lucinda Kinsinger, for “Blessed pain of motherhood” (Aug. 6). Her description of motherhood — “more labor intensive, time intensive and emotion intensive than I thought possible” — couldn’t be more accurate. Now with two grandchildren, I still feel the blessed pain. Recently I’ve learned that when they are struggling it is OK to have my heart break open with love and still be confident they too are on their life journeys with joys and sorrows.
