Poem: Remembering my baptism

Remembering my baptism

The new blue plain suit
the pouring water, soaking the straightened collar
the renouncing of Satan, his works of iniquity
the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost
the kneeling, the rising, the newness of life
the right hand of fellowship, the kiss of peace
the simple confession, still mine:
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
